FAQ

Air handling unit software update

To update your Airfi air handling unit to the latest software, download the latest software version from the link below.

Instructions:
  1. Extract the .zip file. Transfer the airfi-sw.bin file to a FAT16 or FAT32 USB flash drive. NOTE! Make sure the file name is airfi-sw.bin. After this, you can remove the memory stick from the computer.
  2. Open the front panel of the air handling unit.
  3. Switch off the air handling unit.
  4. Plug the USB memory stick into the USB port and restart the unit.
  5. A green light flashes at the base of the USB stick. If the light is not flashing, charging has not been successful. In this case, check and, if necessary, replace the USB stick.
  6. Wait for the buzzer to sound. After the buzzer sounds, you can remove the USB flash drive from the unit.
  7. Close the front panel of the air handling unit. The program update has now been successfully completed.

Filters and Filter Classifications

A good filter is an investment in both healthy indoor air and energy-efficient operation. The choice of filter directly affects the pressure drop in the air handling unit, energy consumption, and the overall performance of the system. Dirty or incorrect filter types increase airflow resistance.

Filter classifications define a filter’s ability to remove particles of different sizes from the air. The ISO 16890 standard replaced the EN 779 standard in 2018. A filter manufactured after 2018 that only carries an F7 classification is no longer officially classified according to the current standard. The former G4 corresponds to ISO Coarse 90%. The former F7 corresponds to ISO ePM1 40–65% or ISO ePM2.5 65–75%.

The frequency of filter replacement has a significant impact on long-term costs. We recommend checking the condition of the filters regularly and replacing them at least twice a year – more often during the pollen season if necessary. Please use only original Airfi filters.
