Installation is extremely easy due to the low-profile connection module.

Points to consider when replacing an air handling unit

Correct airflow for current needs

The airflow of the existing unit may no longer be suitable for current needs, for example if the building has been extended or additional wet rooms have been added. A ventilation professional will determine and balance the airflow rates correctly.

Ductwork insulation and sound attenuation

The ductwork insulation should be checked and it should be assessed whether sound attenuation needs to be improved. The exhaust air duct must be insulated against condensation inside the vapour barrier. Attention should also be paid to the insulation of the exhaust air duct in general.

Unit dimensions

Check the dimensions of the existing unit and make sure the new unit will fit in its place. Sufficient space must also be left for installation and maintenance.

Installation

Airfi Refit is easy to install thanks to the low-profile connection module, which forms an integral part of the unit body. The module is installed in the ductwork first, after which the unit is lifted into place. No separate ceiling mounting bracket is required. If necessary, the unit can also be wall-mounted.

Unit handedness and ducts

Check the handedness (R/L) of the existing unit and the number and size of the ducts. Also check the airflow rates. Selecting the handedness: Check the duct locations and dimensions. Note: R/L designations may vary between manufacturers.

Connection to building automation

Airfi Refit can be connected to most building automation systems, allowing you to get the full benefit from your air handling unit. When connected to a network, the unit can also be easily controlled using the app and connected to Airfi Cloud service.

Condensate

The new unit has a higher heat recovery efficiency, so it produces more condensate than the previous unit. Make sure the condensate is properly drained.

Hydronic post-heating coil

Some existing air handling units may have a hydronic post-heating coil, but Airfi Refit no longer requires one thanks to its high energy efficiency.

Unique Warranty

Airfi grants a two year standard warranty to the buyer of air handling units manufactured after 1st of March, 2024, starting from the date of delivery. As an extended warranty, Airfi grants a four year warranty on the specified limited parts of the unit, starting from the end of the above-mentioned two year standard warranty.
